Working Paper - Risk Management and Rule Compliance
23/03/2010EPSC Award 2008 winner Professor Andrew Hopkins has prepared a paper on the roles played by risk management approaches and rules based approaches to safety in industry, examining the contrast and the practical outcome of the methods.
The paper provides detailed examples of methods by which rules and risk assessment can be combined within an organisation, and studies the results as they apply to achieving good safety. The interplay between the strategies is an important part of providing guidance to those who need it within an organisation.
